The rush to move along is sweeping cash out of the way. WAIT! A couple vectors show why cash is king.
Some good weather and future-proofing around the cafe have me busy as a bee and thinking about the smartest layouts for the flow of technology and information which is exactly the filter recent technology news needs. Mainstreaming items at the cafe is a fundamental reason for the cafe! In this episode, I find a soap box to climb upon in the last third with the first and second thirds reminding you what technology is lurking for the tech-lurkers to help develop and promote toward the flow of mainstream acceptance so we can party!
Titled after an old joke about profanity (you’ll get it) the birth of this episode came in the dark. A power outage brought into fine focus the difference between guessing what’s important during a crisis as in yesterday’s episode, vs. learning what’s important since the power was truly out, but safely, today. A dry-run crisis, if you will. You may find that even the seasoned among us (read: Old) can still get stuck reaching for the lightswitch or thinking about checking Twitter.
It’s a little unstrung today but an apocalypse can do that. Will
technology’s insatiable demands for energy and speed knock us out before all that nifty A.I. ever gets a chance? Environmental reports and ongoing exploitation combined with more aggressive energy creation have this ice age coming to a close rapidly. So, can technology save us from technology? Plus! We continue a little of yesterday’s talk on Free Speech.
Data, money and life are all in the balance from just a few stories so profound I keep coming back to them in Part 2. The ‘data’ is VPN related and ‘money’ is nothing short of some ambitious 21st Century Wild West electronic bank heist the FBI is hankering to stop in its tracks. The ‘life’ aspect is Bitcoin’s tumble up and down. The latest down, I discover at the end of the episode, claims lives as investors are left ‘holding the bag.’ Tragic, but part of the fabric in spreading caution.
