Like the lady who swallowed the fly, this techno-amiable public has a problem. There’s too much tech and not enough grown-up minds to handle it! Now we’re working hard to invent the spider, bird, cat and dog to catch those tech flies… It’s the drones that have done it! A new era hasn’t arrived with a bang but the need can’t be avoided and that’s pointing us down another road, what do we do with all this crap when it’s obsolete!?
With the Internet behind so much access to infrastructure and anyone able to access anything given the right credentials, isn’t it time to not just issue new passwords but also consider accountability through issuing licenses? History already shows this can be effective with some citizen right-mindedness in place. With one person’s mistakes affecting dozens of other people, should we make rules? We already have special licenses for driving special vehicles and using reserved communications. What’s the alternative? An episode with big but pointed questions about security and responsibility.
