We should license access to different internet tiers, or try harder
With the Internet behind so much access to infrastructure and anyone able to access anything given the right credentials, isn’t it time to not just issue new passwords but also consider accountability through issuing licenses? History already shows this can be effective with some citizen right-mindedness in place. With one person’s mistakes affecting dozens of other people, should we make rules? We already have special licenses for driving special vehicles and using reserved communications. What’s the alternative? An episode with big but pointed questions about security and responsibility.
